Comments from previous Chesthill House guests:
“Chesthill / Glen Lyon is the most magical of places. Soaking in the views and the scenery brings goosebumps and a smile to the face. Exploring the Glen, whether it be by foot, bike, kayak or indeed Argocat was amazing and a swim the perfect finish to any of the adventures.” (Giles D)
“This large, comfortable and well run House (sleeps at least 15) sits in idyllic position above the river Lyon in Glen Lyon surrounded by the steep Scottish hills and an amazing array of beautiful well established trees. You can hear the river flowing by and the stags roaring in the hills. The house is really well equipped and country house comfortable. Many rooms have new en-suite bathrooms of very high quality. The kitchen, dining room and reception rooms are all just what is needed for a rugged Scottish holiday. The house exudes its Scottish heritage and it has a fascinating history. Tartan carpets and Antlers on the wall, it is a warm welcoming and cosy place to stay. The staff go out of their way to make sure you get the very best out of the activities that are available. These include Stag and Hind stalking in the hills, fishing on the river Lyon or Lochs, cycling, walking and site seeing. The surrounding area is full of interest as there is masses to see without travelling too far. Glen Lyon itself is beautiful, especially when the leaves start to change. It is a children and dog friendly house. Cots and high chairs available. As I say, nothing is too much trouble and they have thought of everything. Don’t hang around you need to go there, I know I have been there at least 8 times and I enjoy every moment of it.” (Richard G)
“This lodge has been upgraded to a good standard and rates amongst the best in Scotland.” (Mike S)
“We think the refurb has been done totally brilliantly. We were slightly worried it would be overdone, but it has been done so well and sympathetically we were thrilled and it now makes what we consider a perfect week to be even better.” Richard G
“Just had to let you know how impressed we were with the marvellous alterations at Chesthill; a fabulous job, bringing the dear house up to date with just what today’s tenants require while still keeping the essence of what we all love.” Sally R
“I found South Chesthill Estate, Chesthill House, all the staff and facilities, amongst the best that I have encountered in many years of visiting Scotland. The Estate presents itself very well. Very attractive area with many different things of interest to appeal to all tastes”. Gavin W-D
