South Chesthill enjoys over 6 miles of single and double bank fishing and 32 pools on the River Lyon, one of the major Tay tributaries, which is a beautiful and varied river. The catch has varied from 107 in 2012 (record year) to 9 in 2020 (virtually unfished due to Covid) with the average between 35 and 75 in normal years. The catch is well spread over the spring, summer, and autumn, from March through to October, with salmon caught weighing up to mid 20 lbs.
